Payment on Sliding Scale

We offer you to choose an amount within a defined range. This approach is meant to honor the different realities and financial situations applicants are in, while trusting that you are willing to contribute to the collective costs in your realistic capacity.

The payment of your participation consists of 2 parts.

1. Accommodation, Meals & Course Infrastructure
This covers fixed expenses for:
  • Living costs for 5 weeks at the Seminar Center of Schloss Glarisegg
    (2 – 4 bedroom setting)
  • Cooks for breakfast and lunch
  • Organic vegan food for all meals
  • Seminar facilities (indoor and outdoor)
  • Course materials
  • Travel costs for our team

Costs: 980 – 1800 CHF (sliding scale)

This relatively low sliding scale is possible because we will share responsibility for our communal life, including cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning — which is an essential part of the community experience.

Time of Payment: We kindly ask for this payment to be transferred upon our confirmation of your participation, latest until 01.11.2026

2. Course Program, Facilitation, Team, Organisation
This remunerates the work of all people involved in hosting the course, including:

  • Preparations of the Core Team throughout the entire year
  • Seven week on-site preparations, hosting and closure of the course by the core team and team players (10-12 people)
  • Payment for external seminar leaders

Costs: 900 – 5000 CHF (sliding scale)

Time of Payment: During the course

Rather than asking you to pay the course fee upfront, we offer you to come and participate – and in the meantime find out what your financial contribution is, based on the sliding scale above.

How it works

We will make our budget and all costs transparent during the course, giving you more information on the contributions needed to make this work sustainable. We will offer sessions of research and exploration about our individual and collective relationship with money, work and resources. Towards the end of the course (latest by 05.02.2027), you decide on your contribution within the sliding scale and transfer the money.

Why we offer this approach
With this approach, we aim to offer you a transformative experience on the topics of money, work and value. Rather than searching in advance for the ‘best deal’ – as is so common in cultures shaped by individualism and capitalism – we invite each and every one of you to share in the collective responsibility of making this experience possible, now and in the future, to ensure its long-term sustainability. This means making the course accessible to a wide audience whilst ensuring financial remuneration that recognises the hard work and dedication of our team.

Last but not least, we hope this approach will inspire you in your (future) projects!

Scholarships & Price Reduction
We invite participants from widely different life realities: cultural and family background, gender, age, education, health conditions, experiences of discrimination, and other aspects of privilege — all of which shape your financial possibilities. With this in mind, we are committed to being inclusive, aware that traveling to Switzerland for five weeks presents significant structural barriers for many.

If you want to join us and cannot afford the sliding scale options we suggest, you are very welcome to explore if applying for a Price Reduction or Scholarship is a path for you.
