Initiation

Initiations are collective, intentional moments that honor the power of meaningful transitions. They invite us to consciously cross thresholds, recognizing that who we once were is no longer, and welcoming a wider sense of self that allows us to keep growing and unfolding. Like a serpent shedding its skin, initiation calls us into openness and curiosity — to continuously reinvent ourselves and to meet both ourselves and others with fresh eyes, rather than clinging to a rigid or fossilized identity.

Throughout history, initiations have held a vital place in cultures across the world. They serve not only the individual but also the collective, offering space to celebrate, acknowledge, and honor significant transitions in our shared evolution.

One of the most universal examples is the passage from childhood to adulthood. Yet depending on where we grew up, the cultural values that shaped us, and the role models we had, the adulthood we were initiated into — whether through formal rites of passage or not — may not be the one that truly allows us to thrive. The invitation is to recognize that it is never too late to step into the kind of adult we long to embody: one aligned with integrity, service, future generations, and the living Earth.
