Community building

Community building is the process of taking care of the social plaster that holds people together. There are many ways to tend to it, which reveals the intricate bonds that humans nurture whenever they come together around a common vision, be it for a one time action, sharing a living place, or working on a project together. The sense of community is a complex one to nail down in a few words, but it usually becomes palpable when the social ties between a group of people is strong enough to create a sense of identity as a group.

Community building practices are vital for Creating Transformative Cultures because they hold the potential to nurtures authentic connections and support each other’s evolution, sharing spaces with a diverse group of people that can grow together, while challenging existing paradigms, traumatizing cultures and outdated social norms hostile to life.

Through these collective spaces of nurturing our social bond, we want to develop new ways of being, thinking, and relating that ripples out beyond our community field and informs a broader cultural change towards a more just a regenerative society.

Rather than isolated individual growth, community building enables sustainable transformation by providing mutual support, shared resources, and living laboratories for experimenting with life affirming cultural practices.
